Katie Holmes hit the stage to perform in All My Sons on Broadway last night, but this time it was different. It was the show's official opening night and Katie's smile was bigger than ever as she took her bow and posed outside after the play. Of course, Tom Cruise was there to support his wife and I'm sure found time to gush even more about her performance at the after party. The only damper on the evening was the protesters against Scientology out to make a scene. After last night's big show, the first reviews are out and while they're a mixed bag for Katie and the production in general, it's a pretty big accomplishment for the actress. Congrats to Katie who deserves every standing ovation she gets. To see more from Katie's big night including Blythe Danner, Barbara Walters, Dianne Wiest, John Lithgow, Patrick Wilson and others just read more.

Adam Arkin is the latest to join Ethan and Joel Coen’s upcoming comedy “A Serious Man,” according to Variety.
Set in 1967, the film follows Larry Gopnik, a professor whose life starts to break apart when his wife plans to leave him and his incompetent brother refuses to move out.
Michael Stuhlbarg and Richard Kind already boarded the project, which is currently filming in Minnesota.
At this stage, we really don’t know anything about the role of Arkin, who is known best for playing Dr. Aaron Shutt on television’s “Chicago Hope.” Arkin also stars in several episodes of “Life.”
Joel and Ethan Coen also wrote the script for “A Serious Men.” Their latest comedy, “Burn After Reading,” is currently showing in theaters.

The Coen Brothers are smart. While the critical community has been arguing about the merits of Burn After Reading, which opens wide tomorrow, Joel and Ethan are already knee deep in their next production. A Serious Man started filming in their home state of Minnesota on Monday.
The project was announced in the spring of 2007, just before No Country for Old Men debuted at Cannes. Last month we learned that relatively little-known Michael Stuhlberg and Richard Kind had been cast in the lead roles in the black comedy set in 1967, with Stuhlberg playing a professor whose wife is leaving him, and Kind playing his sofa sleeping brother. While Christopher expressed his hope that Frances McDormand would be playing the wife, that role has gone to Sari Wagner (identified as Sari Lennick by IMDb), one of a trio of seriously unknown Minnesota actors cast in the film, according to an official statement released by Focus Features.

Burn After Reading hasn't even officially opened and Joel and Ethan Coen are already working on their next film. Titled A Serious Man, the new Coen Brothers project began production yesterday in their home state of Minnesota.
Of course, Minnesota has been good the the filmmakers in the past; Fargo received seven Oscar nominations and won Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress. Earlier this year, the Coens won more Oscar gold with No Country for Old Men picking up four awards.
Their new film will be quite different from Burn After Reading; while that film features the biggest names the brothers have ever worked with - re-teaming with George Clooney and grabbing Brad Pitt and John Malkovich - A Serious Man enters production with no major stars. Richard Kind, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sari Lennick, and Fred Melamed are the primary players. That doesn't mean the film won't be any good, just

The Coen Brothers are definitely on a roll recently. Not that they were ever at a point where they weren't making great movies in their 24 year career, but coming off of No Country for Old Men, they're some of the most well-respected directors around and their next film already looks fantastic. Joel and Ethan also never take a break. The two have already finished casting their next feature film after Burn After Reading, a period black comedy called A Serious Man. They've cast both Michael Stuhlbarg (seen above left), a Tony-nominated stage actor with little cinematic acting experience, and Richard Kind (seen above right), a character actor whose name you won't necessarily recognize, but his face and voice you will. Not only are these guys fantastic directors, but they write and produce all of their own movies as well. A Serious Man is another original creation written by Joel and

For their last few movies, the Coen Brothers have rounded up some heavyweight talent - George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Tommy Lee Jones. After No Country For Old Men, they can pretty much get whoever they want. So for their next movie, they're going with another familiar face... just not quite as A-list. They've brought in TV fixture, voice actor and Clooney chum Richard Kind ("Spin City", "Mad About You") to star in their comedy A Serious Man. He'll be joined by...

Four years after the release of "Incident at Loch Ness," a wily mockumentary with a big, German question mark at its center, writer-director Zak Penn returns with "The Grand," his friend Werner Herzog once again in tow, this time as a participant in a high stakes poker tournament. More forthright than "Loch Ness," Penn's comedy still balances the outrageous with the heartfelt, tapping the improv skills of a cast that includes Michael McKean, Judy Greer, Richard Kind and Woody Harrelson as the odds-off favorite. Penn found time in between working on "Section 8," a sci-fi series for ABC, and writing the script for a remake of "The Dirty Dozen" to talk about making a movie where he didn't know the ending, the German, and the conundrum of the mockumentary tag.
You said in an interview in 2004 that "Incident at Loch Ness" was more about making movies than searching for monsters,
