Cricket fan Jerry Lewis returns to voice two characters in the new animated version of The Nutty Professor, based on the 1963 Jekyll and Hyde spoof in which he starred. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lewis will provide the voices of the main characters, nerdy prof Julius Kelp and his suave, Casanova-type alter ego, Buddy Love. Drake and Josh star Drake Bell provides the voice of Harold Kelp. In the 1960s, Lewis starred in, wrote, directed and produced a series of films for Paramount. The rights to several, including The Nutty Professor, returned to him, allowing him to license the rights to Universal for the 1996 Eddie Murphy remake and its 2000 sequel, Nutty Profesor II: The Klumps. Evan Spiliotopoulos is writing the script for the project, basing it on the original 1963 film. His credits include the upcoming Disney direct-to-video comedy Tinker Bell.
