With Ben Stiller, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jack Black in the lead roles, Tropic Thunder looked like it could become a cinematic dynamo. However, the movie never quite ignited with audiences. It earned a decent $110 million, so it did fine, but it failed to live up to its billing.
