Inside the Mind of the Muscles
20 November 2008 10:53 AM, PST
This week, Marc Savlov from the Austin Chronicle had, what I have to assume, was a rare and sumptuous treat: the honor of interviewing legendary ass-kicker Jean Claude Van Damme. His new film Jcvd, a Charlie-Kaufman-esque meta-comedy/drama/action hybrid features Jean Claude Van Damme playing Jean Claude Van Damme, an aging, broke action star who in one day loses a big role to Steven Segal, is being divorced by his wife and disowned by his daughter. "Actual" blood with your vampire flicks
20 November 2008 9:00 AM, PST
Buzz is swirling around the upcoming release of Twilight, the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's cult vampire novel of the same name. Pairing the right snack to new film releases has been an Alamo staple since the beginning, so why should we stop now, even when vampire food is a bit more esoteric. Nocturnal patrons who come to see Twilight at the Alamo South Lamar or Alamo Village will have the option of drinking actual blood that was stolen from the Alamo Blood Bank. Kinda like the "tastes like chicken" cliche, if you haven't ever sipped a cocktail of real blood before, it tastes a lot like sangria.
We're also bringing back our popular Bat Wings (not made of actual bat) and for those wanting to ward off the vampire throngs, try out our garlic heavy "Love at First Bite" pizza, with roasted and fresh garlic, with a sliced "stake" topping.
