  • Continuity: Jack's Porsche has 15 spoke rims when it leaves the underground parking garage at his office. When he arrives at the university his car has 5 spoke rims.

  • Continuity: During the live interview with Forster we see the time as 1109 PT. The time then switches to 1106 PT.

  • Errors in geography: Although the film is set in Seattle, a Shoppers Drug Mart store can be seen early in the movie. Shoppers Drug Mart is a Canadian chain of drugstores, the movie was shot in Vancouver, BC.

  • Errors in geography: Although the film is set in Seattle, an orange "24 Hours" newsstand can be clearly seen when Jack Gramm is getting into the taxi at the beginning of the movie. 24 Hours is a newspaper published only in major cities in Canada, such as Edmonton, Vancouver, and Toronto.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The name Jon Forrester is spelled Jon at the beginning but in another scene it is spelled John on the name MSNBC interview.

  • Crew or equipment visible: At 36'37" into the film, as Jack Gramm stops the motorbike at the car park barrier, a crew member can be seen in the background wearing combat patterned trousers and a black T shirt.

  • Continuity: After Jack receives his first phone call whilst giving his lecture, he places his mobile phone screen down, then when it rings again it is facing up with the screen visible.

  • Continuity: Around 45 minutes in to the film, Jack answers a cellphone, first with his left hand, then in the next shot its in his right hand, and in the last shot its back in his left.

  • Continuity: Although most of the film transpires during "88 minutes", Jack's hair length changes between long and short several times.

  • Continuity: After Jack’s Porsche gets broken into, you see a circular hole on this windshield, however when he is driving it out in the streets, the windshield is perfectly normal.

  • Errors in geography: When Jack and Kim are out on the street to get to the Porsche, you can see a Roots store on the corner (directly behind them). There are no Roots stores in Seattle, and there are only four in all of United States, Beverly Hills CA, Aspen CO, Birmingham MI, and Park City UT.

  • Revealing mistakes: During the phone conversation between Gramm and Forrester on the live broadcast, the clock behind Jack switches from 11:09 in one scene to 11:12 in the next shot of Jack. And then re-switches back to 11:09 at the end of the call.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: After the warning about "88 minutes" is called in, a guy on a bike is seen cycling past. The sound of the bike is that of a person coasting (the ratchet is clearly heard) -- not cycling.

  • Errors in geography: There was at least one clear shot of a green "Metro" free newspaper box. Metro is only distributed in 7 major cities in Canada (including Vancouver, where the film was shot), and in the United States but only in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia, not Seattle where the film was set.

  • Continuity: When Jack goes into the conference room, when the first phony scene with the feds takes place, he sets the cookies the dead girl's sister gave him down top of a thin binder. A moment later, the binder is seen without them, and in the next moment the plate of cookies are in the middle of the table.

  • Factual errors: MLB games do not start so early in the day. When the score is told to Jack, he has 76 minutes to live, making the time approximately 10:30am (based on time that he is supposed to die at 11:45am). We could assume that it is an away game, but the score on the phone shows the Mariners up 3-1 with the Seattle score on the bottom which indicates that they are playing at home making the chances of an MLB game being played at that time of day, zero.

  • Continuity: When the dean is hanging, her tormentor releases the rope and the dean drops slightly. Her tormentor then reels her back up quite effortlessly. The two FBI guys struggle when they attempt the same task together.

  • Continuity: After he commandeers the taxi, he pulls up to a curb right next to a telephone pole. When they exit the car moments later, the pole is missing.

  • Continuity: When Graham goes to his office the last time (at about 11:30 on the movie's time-line), we see that his office number is 316. Five minutes later when he's leaving the building, as he places a call from the elevator, we see the elevator's floor indicator go from 4 to 3.

  • Errors in geography: After Graham leaves the Campus Security Office, he passes by the fictional University of Northwest Washington campus map on the wall. However, upon close examination, one can see that it is actually the University of Washington Seattle campus map. The film was shot on the University of British Columbia campus.

  • Continuity: In the scene where the detective confronts Jack (about 10 minutes left of the 88 minutes) they are standing in front of a theater. In the close up scene they are in front of some posters, but when the camera shows a wider scene they are nowhere near the posters.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: When they show the killer attaching the carabiner to the rope around Joanie Cates' leg she has pajama bottoms on. She was not wearing pajamas, her sister Janie was.

  • Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Dr. Gramm's Porsche explodes, it is clearly a mock-up. This is especially visible when the bottom of the car is shown, revealing an obviously fake exhaust system.

  • Factual errors: SPOILER: Loren was able to hold as well as lift the dean with the pulley. Frank and Jack shouldn't have had any trouble lifting her.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: Leelee's heavy eye makeup is on before her death scene and gone after.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: When Jack discovers Sara's body the position of the rope around her body keeps changing with each cut.
