  • Factual errors: When Kristen puts a record on, she places the needle at the beginning and we hear "The Sprout And The Bean" by Joanna Newsom. Yet no vinyl album has ever been released where this song is at the beginning of either side.

  • Continuity: When Kristen is hiding in the closet she is looking upwards towards the masked villain. However the slats in the door are facing downwards and there's no way she would be able to see him.

  • Continuity: When Kristen is startled by one of the strangers at the back window, she turns around and bumps into one of the dining table chairs, thus slamming the record player and scratching the album which continuously skips over the same phrase. However, in the previous shots of the arrangement of the house, the record player is clear across the room from the dining table.

  • Continuity: When Kristen tries to call for help on the short wave radio in the outside shed, she crouches under the table, placing the handset upright on the floor. In two subsequent shots, the handset is seen lying down before we cut to her picking it up again, from an upright position.

  • Continuity: James uses his necktie to wrap around Kristen's injured hand, but in the following scene, he is wearing the tie again. In the very next scene, he is not wearing the tie.

  • Continuity: Ice cream on table changes from Vanilla to Strawberry.

  • Continuity: When Kristen has just fallen and broken/sprained her ankle in the leaves, she starts to climb and crawl and the black tie covering her wound is not on her hand. In the next shot, the tie is back on her hand.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When she is in the backyard there is no smoke coming out of the chimney even though there is a fire in the fireplace. However, the chimney is blocked earlier in the movie, when the smoke alarm goes off.

  • Continuity: Kristen cuts her hand on a lamp, and her hand is bleeding. Later in the film, her hand shows no sign of damage.

  • Continuity: The amount of ice cream in the carton changes throughout the movie.

  • Continuity: James throws a bottle of champagne in the front yard, then it magically reappears on the dining room table.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Mike is supposed to be drunk, but shows no signs of being drunk at all.

  • Continuity: The amount of blood on Kristen's dress decreases between being stabbed to lying on the floor.

  • Continuity: The candles on the table first are spread apart, then magically are close together, then finally magically multiply from two to four candles.

  • Continuity: When Dollface takes off her mask, she is wearing a jacket. After just a split second, the camera goes back to Dollface, and she has no jacket on.

  • Continuity: The amount of damage to the car changes when Pin-Up Girl smashes her truck into the couple's car: at first the window first looks bigger, but then 'shrinks' and turns into a heart-shaped crack.

  • Revealing mistakes: The movie takes place in February according to the opening statement. But at the end of the movie, you see the leaves are changing, so it is obviously fall, not winter.

  • Continuity: Blood appears and disappears on James' shirt throughout the movie.

  • Revealing mistakes: James puts the shotgun shells in the wrong way, but the gun still fires.

  • Continuity: The record player has a load of continuity problems, first rotating to the right, then magically starts rotating left.

  • Revealing mistakes: Kristen's phone doesn't work, but if you look close you can see that it is really on.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the unrated version, when Kristen is crawling on the floor, the sound of her hand thumping on the floor doesn't match the screen.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: Kristen's scream is still heard even after her mouth is closed.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: After James shoots his friend and he sees "Killer" written across the glass, he speaks to Kristen a few times and once before he goes to head out the door, his voice can be heard but his mouth moves differently, as if he really said something else.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Kristen trips over some chairs, but in a later scene they are up again. However, it is well established that the strangers move objects around to disconcert the victims so the chairs may have been intentional.

  • Continuity: After Kristen had injured her ankle she is seen limping in the house, then magically she's walking perfectly. Immediately after she is seen limping again

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When the girl firsts knocks on the door, neither porch lights on either side of the porch are working. James opens the door to no one, reaches out and screws in only one of the light bulbs. The next shot is a long shot of James standing on the porch, however both porch lights are fully illuminated, though he only screwed in one. If the two porch lights have been installed in serial configuration, only one light needs to be unscrewed to disable both.
